Eaglesham Amateurs Football Club                      RED and BLACK

The season is now well under way with a strong pool of players, all we need now are the results to follow! Here is a quick club update.

Club Etiquette
- Let your manager know as early as possible if you can’t make a training session or are unavailable for a game.
- If training or games are cancelled you will be texted and posted on the website, please don’t bombard the managers or match secretary with calls/texts.
- Be on time, or let the manager know if you are running late.
- Please offer to help those who look after the kit by carrying the kit to/from changing rooms etc.

Training
- Monday’s : Muirend, Outdoor, 8-10pm (20 Sep-28 March) – no training 27 Sep
- Wednesday’s : Williamwood H.S., Indoor, 8-10pm (22 Sep – 23 Mar) – except school holidays

Social
- There is a Karaoke in Orry Bar on Sat 30th October and the Eg have offered us the chance to use this night to raise funds for the club and for charity (Beatson Oncology Unit). More details will follow but please note the date and support the evening.
- The Xmas night is planned to be at the casino similar to last year – is this OK?
- The Race Night will be on 5th March.
- The Player of the Year will be on 28th May (Champions League final day) and be a similar format to last year but without the Karaoke.
- Please make a point of thanking Wilma in the Eg for organising the recent raffle which raised over £600 for the club.

Funds
- We are an amateur club and although we are fortunate to receive sponsorship from various businesses we still need additional funds to pay for pitches, training facilities, refs, & equipment etc. The money collected on Saturday’s only covers part of these costs.
- As agreed at the AGM Club subscriptions are now due £35 (£20 students/unemployed). Please pay ASAP to Scott McMaster or Alan Kyle – please don’t wait until they pester you before paying.

Congratulations to Matthew, Stephen and Ian. Thanks to everyone who entered. The prizes were 1st £160, 2nd £80 & 3rd £25.

Since I cant get down for the Saturday night chat for a while can someone update me on the AGM. Is this Jimmy Steele now the first team gaffer? Was he formally Busby manager? Not sure how this will go down with the Ultras!

Is Derek the second team manager? He should definitely be given a chance as he's really enthusiastic with a lot of experience of Amateur football. Not only that but he bleeds red and black which is important.

Good luck to you Jimmy. I don't know you but if you give it your all and get the respect of the boys you will do alright. A few new players would certainly help as although the core of the side is good, it never harms to freshen things up which we probably need.

There used to be a real pride in playing for Eaglesham. Get this back and the club will do well.

It's the AGM on Tue 22 MAy @ 7:30pm in the Egg. All supporters, players and associates should attend.
